What is considered a staple item in your home could differ from one person to the next. But the reason you keep it around is because it is useful, and you use it often. Today, your friends at Goodwyn Building would like to share a couple staples that we love. Specifically, ones for your pantry.
All rice is a great staple to keep on hand. But white rice is the kind that will last the longest for you. It has an amazing shelf life and can be used in a wide range of dishes from exotic to comforting.
Dried beans are an ideal pantry staple because they last virtually forever, and they carry so many vitamins and minerals along with them. Not to mention the fact that there is a satisfying array of different kinds to choose from. You can use them in stews, soups, casseroles, tacos, and much more. Thus, making them a truly ideal staple to have on hand.
Oats are another amazing ingredient to have around. They are a great way to add extra fiber into your diet. In addition, you can easily make all sorts of treats with them. Homemade granola, overnight oats, and even your own oat milk (which is surprisingly easy to make).
And last on our list is canned goods. Canned food is awesome to have around since you can keep anything from meat to fruit to veggies ready to go. If kept in a cool, dry place, canned food can last for years. It is an excellent staple as well as emergency food.
There you have it! Our votes for the best pantry staples. Do not forget that Goodwyn builds homes equipped with beautiful and functional kitchens that make it a joy to cook. If you want to see examples of what we mean, be sure to look at our galleries!
