Household Uses for Peanut Butter That Don't Involve Sandwiches

Peanut butter is a mainstay in many homes, but did you know that peanut butter is good for more than just making sandwiches? It's true. Peanut butter has a myriad of household uses outside of the kitchen. Today, we want to share just a few of them with you.

Leather Cleaner and Conditioner

While rubbing food onto your furniture sounds counterproductive, peanut butter can help in removing spots from your leather couch. Just rub a small portion of peanut butter into the spot in question, working in circular motions. Use a clean, soft cloth to remove the excess. The natural oils from the peanut butter will help to break down and dissolve contaminants and remove spots. Additionally, it will help to condition the leather and give it a nice shine.

Pest Management

Have you noticed evidence of pesky mice around your home? Peanut butter is a great way to lure them to traps so you can take them elsewhere. Because peanut butter is high in calories, mice are naturally drawn to the stuff as a fuel source. Keep this in mind the next time you need to engage in some pest management.

Bring Birds to the Yard

Brighten up your yard this Winter by encouraging birds to visit with peanut butter. Like mice, birds are drawn to this high calorie treat.
